Shilpkar Law College maintains statutory committees to safeguard the dignity, safety, and rights of every member of our community, in line with national law and UGC regulations.

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

The ICC prevents and addresses any form of sexual harassment within the institution, working to ensure gender equality and a secure, discrimination-free campus that protects personal dignity and academic freedom.

Functions

  • Receive and address complaints of sexual harassment as defined by law.
  • Provide a fair and confidential inquiry and redressal mechanism.
  • Organise awareness programmes, sensitisation workshops, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Recommend appropriate action after thorough inquiry.
SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989

SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Cell

The Cell promotes equality and dignity for all, creating awareness of the constitutional rights of SC/ST communities and preventing discrimination, harassment, or atrocity — verbal, physical, social, or institutional — on campus.

Functions

  • Sensitise the campus community through workshops and legal awareness programmes.
  • Coordinate with statutory bodies to ensure effective implementation of the SC/ST Act.
  • Assist affected students or staff in filing complaints and accessing legal remedies.
  • Recommend disciplinary action or institutional reforms where necessary.
UGC (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023

Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC)

The SGRC gives students an accessible, impartial, and confidential platform for the redressal of academic, administrative, and campus grievances, safeguarding them against any form of victimisation.

Functions

  • Resolve academic issues — admissions, examinations, evaluation, attendance, and syllabus coverage.
  • Address administrative issues — fees, scholarships, certificates, and facilities.
  • Handle infrastructure concerns and non-sexual discrimination or harassment.
  • Ensure a fair, confidential, and timely grievance-handling process.
